Hey Mr Lopez - why screw with Punta Mita?

Report from Punta Mita - shoulder high and getting bigger. Surfed today with "mr Pipeline" Gerry Lopez who locals say is starting a biz down here in Punta Mita - many unhappy locals and for us traveling surfers - be prepared for clowns on longboards and SUPs in the line up with no courtesy towards anyone and very little skill. Thanks Gerry. How about you stay in Bend and try not to destroy the vibe at one of the coolest regions in Mexico. Very uncool. I hope the locals drive you out like they did Terry Sims.

  1. And said clowns on LB's and SUP's don’t check this Bay Area forecasting blog of yours?

  2. They probably do - I actually don't have any issue with someone that rides a longboard that knows how - I ride short and long. SUPs should stay on the lakes and rivers. And as for this blog - i don't name any spots and the forecast is regional - you still have to know how to interpret the info. What Lopez is doing in PM is really uncool. If you had been in the water and experienced what we did when his boat of fools pulled up maybe you understand.

  3. Sure you don’t name spots, but it’s no secret where your forecasts are for. You make it pretty obvious. Common it’s the Bay Area, there are few secrets and enough forecasting sites already. People know the spots and where you surf, this just gives them more info to go by. Something to think about.

  4. The Bay Area is a big place and if you know where to look still plenty of secret spots with the right conditions. People know the named spots yes. If they think they know where i surf, well my friends probably do. You still have to spend years on this coast to dial things in. I started this site for my friends - it's been word of mouth. You notice I don't hack it out with ads and banners. We can agree to disagree on probably a lot and you have the power to read another blog. That's cool with me.
